I wake up at 7.45 and get ready to start the day!
The first thing I would do is cleaning up the indoor fish pond's filter. There are 6 big indoor fish ponds there. It's very easy and I like this activity, because basically I like to clean up things. It's like this :
Brush any dirt or any fishes' feces that got stuck in the filter
And here's how the indoor fish ponds look like
After I've finished cleaning up the filter, I usually grab the broom and sweep the floor in front of the indoor fish pond area, so that there's no more leaves or dirt.
Here's the pic of me sweeping the floor (haha)
And if I still have spare time, I usually clean up the leaves in the front water filter area of the farm.
Me and the broom
So, from 8 to 10 AM, I have to follow Jason. Jason is Uncle's nephew and he's in charge of feeding the fish and taking care of the fishes. On 9 AM, he always gets down water to pull out the pond filter. I've tried gone down water for only 3 times, due to my lack of ability to get out of the pond :( I'm so short that I could not get out of the pond easily and got some bruises on my knee after first time getting downwater.
It's me and the filter. We should pull out the filter every day to make sure the pond is clean
Some big fishes scare me. They're tame, but I'm always a bit nervous when they're approaching me. Their age is around 10-15 years. We don't eat the big fishes, it's only for breeding necessity.
And here's the picture of me wearing the waterproof suit/
So don't worry to get down water, you will not be wet. The worse thing could happen is only you cannot get out of the pond. Just like me. It's a nice experience, tough. If you have time to visit this farm, maybe you can ask to try get down water. Once in a lifetime you can be around enormous fishes!
Let's continue. After working with Jason, I go to the kitchen from 10 AM to 5 PM. So much things to do in the kitchen so I love working here! :)
It's me, cutting the chili.
The murder of the paddlefishes
Cutting the mushroom. They call it shangku. Wo ai shangku!
Here's how the kitchen looks like. It's Xiao Tje, the assistant of the chef.
We have the most amazing cooking machine here. Really, it can cook everything!
Cutting some onion and leeks. Always crying when doing this
This is me cutting the leeks
And this is how the kitchen looks like again. Who doesn't love kitchen??
